Congrats Alif Aziz!

Congratulations to Aliff Aziz, the Anugerah 2007 Champion! In the light of sportsmanship in any competition, we would always congratulate the winner so congrats once again. Luckily I’m not in the competition so, in the most well mannered way that I can possibly say to Aliff is, you don’t deserve the title, BOY!

Most of us know on the night he had fumbled on his first two performance, he struggled singing the song Mungkir Bahagia, he too was outshadowed by Maiya’s vocal capabilities in the duet segment by then he knew all is lost and decides to use his “school children showmanship” on stage to earn more votes. The rock song that he sang, it was Addy Cradle that helped him win that performance, he made the difference on that stage with his kickass solo, not Aliff! So to people who were unaware of it thought he did it. Nah! He was just there to support the guitarist and the band really, that’s the fact!

Syafinaz pointed out his breathing techniques and I had been doing that since like day one of the competition and what did he do about it? NOTHING! Still doing the same wrong thing and he’s the one representing Singapore? Maybe in Suria but not Singapore. It would be a joke!

As for Maiya yes she lacks the groove on stage but that can be worked on anytime! Just add dance steps, stage performance lessons and it’s done! Its the voice that can sell that any recording company wants and she has that quality voice to do it NOW! On the night, I felt Maiya was consistant in her performance. Yes I had to admit she was not on par with her performance in the semis but she did what she had to, that’s to entertain us with her vocals. It’s been awhile since we have quality vocals coming from a female singer in Singapore. Syafinaz pointed it out too! She likes her voice only that she lacks the moves. If only more people had voted for her I think she would be the winner.

Roslan, I sympatize with him. He did what he could but he sure struggled in some of his songs which is why he got some low scores from the judges. If only he had more time to prepare his songs I think he would be the one standing beside Maiya and not that boy. Seemed alittle nervous on the night it can be heard in his voice and seen on facial expressions. More stage exposures will do him good in the future. He has a good voice much better than Aliff’s hands down.

Nuwwarah, she lost because she didn’t have much votes to back her high judges scores. She got better in each performance and I’m sure she earns good points from that. She was also alittle off due to her sickness but she managed to perform her best. What a time to be sick huh? It’s ok she can always continue working at the Music and Drama Company of the Singapore Armed Forces! They give better exposures and performing arts training there! Trust me!

Overall, it was a disappointing results to many, even to most viewers at home it was a joke. Yes Aliff won the voting part of this competition but it does not justify that many supported him because anyone can vote more than once! I’m pretty sure he’s not that popular as many would think and we all know that the winner doesn’t always win. All the best and good luck to the producers of Aliff’s album! Limited vocal range, attrocious vocal techniques, packed school schedules, attitude problem and lastly immature thinking. You definately will have a wonderful time with him. NOT!

All the best to Maiya, Roslan and Nuwwarah! Any of you guys can outshine the winner. Learn to be better and you’ll go far. Peace out!
