Movie Review : Big Stan

Big Stan is coming to our cinemas this week. Rob Schneider the funny man from Deuce Bigalow is the star of this movie. Read on…

Big Stan is a movie about a weak con artist about to go to jail for ripping off old women. In the process, he learns that he needs to learn martial arts in order to keep himself from being loved by the inmates.

Movie Review : Big Stan

A surprise comedy that entertained till the end. Yes, the storyline is nothing to write home about. But, this is a good Schneider movie. He hasn’t done anything good since Deuce Bigalow. The fight scenes are good and creative. Also, the master, David Carradine, is a funny man. The acting is lazy and sarcastic, which I like for this kind of a movie.

The odd thing about this film is that none of the usual gang from Sandler/Schneider films make an appearance in this movie, not even Sandler himself is given a cameo, but don’t worry, it didn’t harm the movie too much. At first, Big Stan was very slow on laughs, but it got better, but I couldn’t help but feel the story was starting to go all over the place (was it about Stan trying to toughen up, Stan trying to help the prisoners, Stan trying to redeem himself?).

Anyway, it wasn’t too bad, if you liked Deuce Bigalow, and was dissapointed with anything after that, then Big Stan is for you. I would give this movie a recommedation for some good laughs this weekend but the ending didn’t live up to the hype, so… expect to be alittle disappointed.
