Directed by David R. Ellis, The Final Destination (3D) is the fourth instalment of the Final Destination franchise, in which Death stalks a group of people who survived a catastrophic accident, thanks to one of them having a premonition. This time round, the accident takes place at a racetrack and the friends who narrowly escape with their lives are Nick (Bobby Campo), his girlfriend Lori (Shantel VanSanten), his buddy Hunt (Nick Zano) and Hunt’s ex-girlfriend Janet (Haley Webb).

Directed by Duncan Jones (David Bowie’s son, trivia fans), Moon stars Sam Rockwell as astronaut Sam Bell, who’s nearing the end of his three year solo posting on the moon, supervising the mining and sending of valuable fuel supplies back to earth. With the live communication link to earth permanently on the fritz, Sam only has space station computer GERTY (Kevin Spacey) and video messages from his wife (Dominique McElligott) to keep him company, so it’s no wonder that he’s starts to hallucinate a bit.

Directed by Todd Graff, Bandslam stars newcomer Gaelan Connell (who looks like a cut-price version of Shia LaBeouf) as bullied teenager Will Burton, who’s delighted when his mother (Lisa Kudrow) announces they’re moving towns and vows to be cooler at his new high school. His wish quickly comes true when he’s taken under the wing of school hottie Charlotte (Disney popstrel Aly Michalka), who asks him to help get her band into shape for the upcoming Bandslam competition, where she’s hoping to defeat her annoyingly popular ex-boyfriend (Scott Porter).

Comedian Sacha Baron Cohen (Da Ali G Show, Borat) plays Bruno, an outrageously gay Austrian fashionista who gets fired from his job as the presenter of Funkyzeit Mit Bruno after an unfortunate incident involving a fashion show and a velcro suit. Declaring his desire to become the biggest Austrian celebrity since Hitler, Bruno heads for America in search of fame and fortune, with only his devoted assistant Lutz (Gustaf Hammarsten) for company.

Directed by Anne Fletcher (27 Dresses), The Proposal stars Sandra Bullock as Margaret, a ruthless editor in New York who makes life hell for her long-suffering assistant, Andrew (Ryan Reynolds). However, when US immigration threaten to deport her back to her native Canada, Margaret bribes Andrew into marrying her, with promises of promotion.
