I’m totally glad that we’re having our own award show and honoring the increasingly high quality work of our Malay local musicians. It’s been a buzz of among our local acts and finally this award show is going to happen at Mediacorp TV Theatre on Saturday, 3rd April 2010 at 8.30pm. It will be shown live on Suria as well as air live on Ria 89.7FM.
This show will be hosted by Fauzie Laily and Fiza O. This award show will honor 10 categories:
+ Artis Baru Terbaik (Best New Artiste)
+ Duo/Kumpulan Baru Terbaik (Best New Duo/Group)
+ Artis Terbaik (Best Artiste)
+ Duo/Kumpulan Terbaik (Best Duo/Group)
+ Penulis Lirik Terbaik (Best Lyricist)
+ Komposer Terbaik (Best Composer)
+ Lagu Terbaik (Best Song)
+ Album Terbaik (Best Album)
+ 3 Lagu Paling Popular (3 Most Popular Songs)
+ 3 Artis Paling Popular (3 Most Popular Artistes)

All finalists were chosen by credible panel of judges from the three organizers, they are Mr Azmeer, an acclaimed Singapore-born singer and composer who made it big in Malaysia, Mr Indra Shahrir, a prolific Music Director and Mrs Hartinah Ahmad a well-known writer and lyricist.
As for the ’3 Most Popular Artistes’ categories, you may vote for your favourites thru SMS or Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS), each votes cost $0.60cents excluding GST.
The 10 popular artistes that you can vote for and they are Didi Cazli, Fauzie Laily, Hady Mirza, Hyrul Anuar, Konspirazy, Kraton, Sarah Aqilah, Sleeq, Syed Azmir and Taufik Batisah.

The focus in “From Paris With Love” is on diplomatic attaché and CIA trainee James Reece (Jonathan Rhys Meyers). He lives in Paris with his girlfriend Caroline (Kasia Smutniak) and works for Ambassador Bennington (Richard Durden). He also moonlights as a CIA trainee of sorts.

“Dear John” follows the life of two lovers who have a chance encounter resulting in love after two weeks. Channing Tatum is John a soldier who is on a short leave from base and Amanda Seyfried as Savannah, a college student who seems to have a heart of gold. The pair immediately has a connection and spends the next two weeks together, basically inseparable. That is until it is time for John to return to base. Promising each other that they will make this relationship work and want to discover everything they can about each other they begin writing. Letters continuously flow back and forth until finally a year later it is almost time for John to return home from his time served to his country.

Written and directed by Jane Campion, Bright Star is set in 1819 and stars Ben Whishaw as 23-year-old poet John Keats, who lives in Hampstead with his friend Charles (Paul Schneider). When Keats meets Fanny Brawne (Abbie Cornish), the 18-year-old daughter of his next door neighbour (Kerry Fox), their initial sparring soon blossoms into an intense love affair.

Not to be confused with 9, District 9 or The Nines, Nine is directed by Rob Marshall (Chicago) and based on the stage musical that was adapted from Federico Fellini’s Oscar-winning, semi-autobiographical 1963 film 8 ½. Set in the 1960s, the film stars Daniel Day-Lewis as world famous Italian film director Guido Contini, who’s about to go into production on his highly anticipated ninth film, even though he doesn’t have a script and is suffering from a severe case of writer-director’s block.
