Held in conjunction with the national Malay Language Month in July, this performance is to highlight the beauty of the Malay language, interesting our audience, especially the younger ones, to the use of good Malay.
Celebrities and artistes in the Malay community will gather to recite and perform a selection of their favourite poetries from respected writers. They will also be reciting and performing their own original writings, showing the good verses are used in songs today. Works from literary icons Masuri S N and Khadijah Hashim will be featured. Fronting this performance is Adi Rahman, a producer/presenter with Radio Warna and a champion of the Malay language. He will be reciting his original work “Bumi”, last presented at the Anugerah Planet Muzik 2007. He will be joined by local singers Hyrul Anuar and Roze with their renditions of new and evergreen songs.

The winners of Anugerah Skrin 2010 will receive a total of $10,000 in cash, roles in a movie produced by Malaysia’s leading media and entertainment company, KRU Studios, a special teledrama produced by MediaCorp Eaglevision and a Suria programme. For the first time in a Malay Talent-search competition history, the winners will also be assured a role in upcoming MediaCorp English programmes.
Since the start of the competition in May 2010, the contestants have acted in different drama genres weekly and their acting capabilities were judged by Resident Judges, Khairudin Samsudin and Rilla Melati Bahri – famous child actors who have excelled in creative fields such as directing and scriptwriting.
Sharon Ismail, an award winning actress, Hasnul Rahmat, Singapore’s veteran actor who made it big in Malaysia and Norman Abd Halim, Group CEO of KRU Studios will be joining our Resident Judges.
The six finalists vying for the top two spots are Diana Amran, Syirah Jusni, Firuz Khan, Erwin Shan Dawson, Shahril Kahar, and Halimah Yahaya.
The scores will be based on a combination of judges’ score (50%) and votes by the public (50%).
Viewers can vote via SMS or IVRS for their favourite contestant during the voting campaign which commenced on 6 July. To vote, either SMS to 73388 in the following format: ANU

Special appearance of the members of the alumni – they will combine with the existing dancers, to bring back mesmerizing memories of their early days with the group – a nostalgic trip down memory lane.
SRIWANA is also extending their invite to dance performers from the other Malay Performing groups like Teater Tari Era, Sri Warisan and Majlis Pusat to name a few to celebrate together their 55 years of achievement. Also totally live music accompaniment of the re-known Sri Mahligai, a local Malay traditional music ensemble and a collaboration with reknown leading Indonesian violinist, Tengku Ryo Riezkan.
Not losing in importance is another SRIWANA’s forte – theatre. This year we have the appearance of our very own drama iconic Norsiah Ramly and Azman Shariff together with our very own talented children. This tragedy and thriller was written by Cultural Medallion recipient Nadiputra.
