Easy A
8/10
You know you are watching a movie when the sexy, sassy, smart, smoking hot redhead is complaining that no one pays attention to her. That redhead would be Emma Stone, the only woman who might be able to steal my heart from Blake Lively.
0.3
Unstoppable
8/10
Of all of the movies in 3D these days, 20th Century Fox couldn’t find a way to make the runaway trains screaming down the tracks to their inevitable, explosive doom jump off the screen in 3D?!!
0.3
The Social Network
9/10
If you want to see an enthralling movie about business in the 21st century, forget about that stinker Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (I have been trying to since I saw the movie). Oliver Stone should have been paying attention to The Social Network to see how to deliver sizzle, intrigue and drama.
0.3
The Town
7/10
With 2007?s Gone Baby Gone, Ben Affleck showed great promise as a director. With The Town, he solidifies his status as a filmmaker worth following. Once again returning to the streets of his native Boston, Affleck has fashioned another gritty, compelling crime thriller that offers equal parts excitement and substance.
0.3Dinner For Schmucks is hilariously entertaining. Its pointed messages, meanwhile, make it even more meaningful. Recommended.
0.3
Eat, Pray, Love
5/10
140 minutes. That’s how long it took me to fly to Spain this summer. The sun, sea and sand made the wobbly airborne trip in a tin tube worthwhile, despite the inevitable radioactive lobster tan, subsequent skin-peeling and rumours of a frantic visit to a genito-urinary clinic.
0.3
The Other Guys
8/10
I wasn’t sure what to expect from the unorthodox pairing of Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg but it turns out they make a likeable comedic duo. They’ve teamed up in The Other Guys to play two goofball police officers.
0.3
The Infidel
8/10
Often uproariously funny, this cross-cultural comedy brims with sharp dialogue and its ideas are sensitive and intelligent without being heavy-handed.
0.3
Going The Distance
6/10
Going the Distance may not exactly rock the conventions of the rom-com, but it is a refreshingly vibrant addition to the genre.
0.3
Grown Ups
6/10
Remember the days of the old school playground? Well if you don’t, let Adam Sandler and his comedic crew takes you on a fun trip down memory lane.
0.3
Step Up 3D
7/10
I’ve always liked the Step Up franchise for what it was. No it’s not cinema at its best, but they were always fun movies and I’m a sucker for most films about the creative process no matter how clichéd they may be.
0.3
The Last Airbender
6/10
A movie with rich imaginations, decent special effects, simple adventure story, average acting with some cliche scripts but most importantly, it’s a harmless movie for you to watch with the kids. A movie with the family is what The Last Airbender is all about.
0.3
Salt
7/10
This is not an original action movie involving CIA agents & Russian spies but it works. I’m not a huge fan of Angelina Jolie, but I do enjoy seeing her in the right role. She’s actually quite a fine actor, and she has the physicality to be an action hero as well. It is this set of traits that make her perfect for her role in “Salt”.
0.3
Street Dance 3D
7/10
Following previous box office success stories Step Up and Stomp The Yard, Street Dance 3D is the latest entry into the dance film genre.
0.3
The Sorcerer's Apprentice
6/10
“I want to come with you,” says the beautiful girl to the boy wizard, who’s about to enter a dangerous magical fray in order to save the world from the ravages of an ancient sorcerer villain. He stares at her, pausing as seconds tick away in his quest. “You’re sexy,” he finally says, his voice cracking in near-disbelief at his luck.
0.3
Inception
8/10
Inception opens with a dream within a dream. Then it gets complicated. Complicated is a mild word to use here.
0.3
Hot Tub Time Machine
7/10
This is a silly titled movie, so watch it with fun in mind and don’t be too critical of it. I’m pretty sure you’ll enjoy the movie very much. Hot Tub Time Machine how crude and corny does that sound for a movie title yet it’s filled with warmth of friendship between four friends.
0.3
Predators (2010)
7/10
If you’re wondering which (if any) of the “Predator” films, sequels, and “Alien” movie mash-ups you need to see in advance of PREDATORS, the answer is just the first one. And if you haven’t seen the 1987 Arnold Schwarzenegger film or saw it a long time ago, that’s okay. You’ll get brought up to speed quickly. If you didn’t that’s fine too since some of you might not been around yet that year (hehe)
0.3
The Twilight Saga : Eclipse
6/10
With little expectation since it’s a teen flick, I brought myself into the movie theatre hoping that it won’t be so disappointing since it’s already in it’s third film. Felt I should have a refund after it ends.
0.3
Knight and Day
7/10
Knight and Day, (formerly titled Wichita and Trouble Man) is a 2010 action comedy film starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. The film, directed by James Mangold, is Cruise and Diaz’s second on-screen collaboration following the 2001 film Vanilla Sky.
0.3
Letters To Juliet
7/10
Endless vistas of the lush Italian countryside, some playful banter and a likable cast make Letters to Juliet worthwhile, even if you feel like you’ve seen it before. Several times before.
0.3She’s Out of My League is a 2010 American romantic comedy film directed by Jim Field Smith and written by Sean Anders and John Morris. The film stars Jay Baruchel and Alice Eve, and was produced by Jimmy Miller for Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks and filmed in Pittsburgh.
0.3
The Karate Kid
8/10
In the first Karate Kid (a movie that should now be considered a classic), teenage Daniel and his Jersey mom settle in Reseda, a modest California suburb that’s as Valley as they come.
0.3
The A Team
8/10
The A-Team is ready to rock-make that impatient. This sweaty, happy cartoon spectacle can’t stay still, for better and worse.
0.3
A Nightmare On Elm Street
6/10
A Nightmare on Elm Street is a 2010 American slasher film directed by Samuel Bayer, and written by Wesley Strick and Eric Heisserer.
0.3
Prince of Persia : The Sands of Time
8/10
Prince of Persia has great special effects that will left you awed as well as great acting by the casts involved. Although it’s a long movie the action scenes were carefully scattered across the movie to make it an enjoyable adventure ride till the end.
0.3
The Back-up Plan
5/10
Zoe (Jennifer Lopez) is thirty years old and wants to have a baby. The problem is she has never met Mr. Right. So, with no prospect of that changing anytime soon and her baby-bearing clock ticking away, she opts for artificial insemination from an unknown donor. On the very day of the procedure, though, the elusive Mr. R will enter her life and things get complicated with “The Back-Up Plan.”
0.3
Away We Go
8/10
Enjoyable, impressively directed and superbly acted comedy-drama with a sharply written script that’s both darkly funny and surprisingly moving.
0.3
Iron Man 2
8/10
Despite strong performances, impressive effects and a handful of decent action scenes, Jon Favreau's eagerly-awaited Iron Man sequel is, unfortunately, not as good as the first film, thanks to a painfully slow, relatively action-free middle section and the occasional mis-step.
0.3
How To Be
5/10
Supermarket clerk and aspiring musician Arthur (Robert Pattinson) is struggling with a self-diagnosed “quarterlife crisis” brought on by emotionally distant parents (Michael Irving and David Mamet regular Rebecca Pidgeon) and a general sense of aimlessness.
