Drillbit Taylor. It is as clunky and humorless as its title.
The best that can be said of it is that at times it feels like a poor man’s Superbad. Co-written by Seth Rogen, who co-wrote and starred in Superbad, Drillbit almost seems like an early incarnation, perhaps a rough draft, of that far more amusing and original comedy.
Its stars even look like younger versions of the high school seniors in Superbad. The chubby, frizzy-haired Ryan (Troy Gentile) is a mini Jonah Hill, the lanky and sweet Wade (Nate Hartley) could be the high school freshman Michael Cera, while the quirky ultra-nerd Emmit (David Dorfman) would no doubt mature into Christopher Mintz-Plasse, aka McLovin.

It deftly updates the Cold War politics of the classic Marvel comics for the post-9/11 age. The red-and-gold suit is sleek and – let’s just say it – very cool.

And even after seeing the movie, that’s a hard question to answer, considering the actors each spend a majority of the movie separated from each other.
Still, the film is owned by Abigail Breslin, who steals the show from both of her elder, more experienced co-stars. And this makes sense because she’s the title character.
